DIRECTIONS

The Autumn 2011 Apex Challenge is being held in the Otley Chevin area of West Yorkshire with the event centre at the Bramhope Scout Activity Centre. While there is parking available on site for those taking part, we would like to encourage as many teams as possible to car share to cut down on the number of vehicles entering this semi-rural area.

The Apex Event Centre is within the campsite grounds (Grid ref. SE 236431). You should aim to arrive there between 6:00pm and 10:00pm on Friday 30th September. If you arrive earlier we may not be ready to start signing you in.

The postal address for the event is Apex Event Centre, Bramhope Scout Activity Centre, Occupation Lane, Bramhope, Leeds, LS16 9HR.

Directions:

The event centre is just North of Leeds Bradford Airport, so it's best to head for that. From there follow the A658 North, through the first set of traffic lights, and then on to the next crossroads at Hilton Grange. Turn right onto Old Lane, then first right onto Occupation Lane. The event is then on your left hand side next to Glaisby Barn.

As you get closer to the event, you should start to see signs, as illustrated, to guide you.

While we do have ample parking on site, due to the volume of traffic, it is likely we will be controlling traffic around the site during Friday evening. Please be patient if our marshals ask you to wait a short time to enable them to coordinate parking. They will be able to direct you to the parking and drop-off zones.

Sat Nav:

If you're following the satnav to get to the event, use the postcode LS16 9HR.

After you have parked:

Please bear in mind there will be a short walk from your parking area to the event camping fields. Please follow signs for event centre when you arrive where members of the Apex team will be able to show you where to set up your tents. Once all your team has arrived, with their consent forms, please return to Event Centre to sign in and collect your event entry pack.

Public transport:

The Event Centre for this year's event is a fair way from a train station, but it is possible to get to within a mile of the site by bus. From Leeds the X84 bus gets you the closest. It runs from Leeds to Bramhope (about a mile's walk from the site). Further details

Arrangements for Sunday:

The event finishes at 5:00pm. For any parents picking up team members there will also be marshals in position to assist. Please ask them to use the directions above and then follow the advice of the event marshals.
