Our first ever Apex Extreme took place in October 2006. The main feature of it was the standard Apex Challenge event with an extra hour for teams to collect points by completing activities and visiting other control points.
Around it were loads of new elements for teams to top up their scores including a Glowstick Challenge, a Balloon Race and a grand finale on the Sunday. Around 200 Scouts from right across the UK travelled to the Peak District for the event. Read all about it here...

Read all about how the brand new format of the Apex Extreme actually worked. There were thousands of points on offer for teams in lots of new and exciting challenges. There are also details here of all the main activity bases on offer in the Saturday event.
Results:
A full rundown of where each of the teams in both age groups finished. Take a look at which parts of the weekend other teams around you did better or worse on as well as whether their route in the main activity was better than yours!

Relive the whole weekend by watching the first ever souvenir Apex DVD. It contains the highlights from many of the activities bases as well as the Glow Company Challenge, balloon race and grand finale.
Prizes:
As usual we'd been working for months to get an impressive array of prizes for the top teams in both the Explorer and Network competitions. Many of the items of outdoor equipment up for grabs would stand you in good stead at a future Apex event!
